Ford EcoSport Booking Begins with Advance of ₹ 50,000:ReportFacebook

In the wait for the official launch of EcoSport SUV in India, latest reports suggest that authorised dealers of Ford have begun accepting bookings for the vehicle.

According to a report published by the CarTrade.com, sources confirmed that Ford dealers in India have started taking pre-orders for EcoSport with advance payment of ₹50,000.

"The authorised dealers of the company have now started accepting the bookings for the model as the interested individuals have to just pay a sum of ₹50000," reported CarTrade.

Ford India which is still mum on the official launch date of EcoSport recently revealed that it will start accepting bookings from June. However, the company did not specify the date. A recent report revealed that Ford will roll out EcoSport on 11 June.

EcoSport which received soft launch in 12 cities as part of its EcoSport Urban Discoveries campaign roadshow is expected to come in four trims - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional trims. The top-end variants which are powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine will come with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the Ambiente and Trend will have the 5-speed manual transmission (MT).The base model of the EcoSport Ambient will lack safety features like ABS and airbags, but will have manual air conditioning, manual rear windows and Bluetooth audio system.

The EcoSport Trend variant will come with ABS and EBD, but will leave out the airbags. The other features of this variant include steering mounted audio controls, height adjustable drive seat and front and rear power windows. The Titanium EcoSport will have power windows, steering mounted controls, automatic air conditioning system, Microsoft SYNC, 16″ alloys, dual airbags, Reverse parking sensors and chrome exteriors. The top variant, Ford EcoSport Titanium Optional, along with the features offered by the Trend will feature leather seats, push button start, Keyless Vehicle System and side and curtain airbags.

Although the company is yet to reveal the price tag of the car for India, the vehcile is likely to be priced between ₹5.9 and ₹6 lakh and the high-end variants to cost ₹9 lakh. The India-bound models are also likely to come with high degree of localization as the models are produced locally.
