Asus' latest phones—flagship Zenfone 5Z and the mid-range Zenfone Max Pro (M1)—are getting generous price cut in India but only for a limited time on Flipkart's Superr Sale.
The company is offering Rs 500 off on both -- 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage -- variants of the feature-rich Zenfone Max Pro (M1). This also comes with an additional 10 percent instant cash back on HDFC Bank debit/credit cards and EMI transactions. That's not all, users can now avail up to extra Rs 10,000 off in exchange for their old smartphone.
As far as ZenFone 5Z is concerned, consumers can bag an extra Rs 3,000 off via exchange offer and Rs 2000 off on select bank cards.
The Flipkart 'Superr Sale' is slated to go live on 25 August, however, Flipkart Plus members can avail early access starting at 9 PM on August 24.
Are Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the Zenfone 5Z worth buying?
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the Zenfone 5Z are two of the most cost-effective phones in the respective price segments in the Indian market.
I reviewed the two variants of the Zenfone Max Pro M1—4 GB RAM + 64 GB and 6 GB RAM + 64 GB— and are great mobile phones. I have to say that the latter has got a better camera hardware and it truly lives up to the expectations. Even the low-end storage model is really good for the price it commands. Except for the bump in the camera and the RAM capacity, everything else remains the same in both the models.
For the uninitiated, Asus Zenfone Max Pro comes with a 5.99-inch full HD+ screen, pure Android Oreo, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, 3 GB/4 GB/6 GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage and a massive 5,000mAh battery. This is more than enough to keep the phone running for two days easily under regular usage.
As far as the camera is concerned, top-end Asus model houses advanced camera hardware: 16 MP +5 MP dual camera on the back and a 16 MP front snapper, when compared to generic models which come with 13 MP + 5 MP rear sensors and an 8 MP front shooter.
I had the chance to review the Zenfone 5Z and it impressed me a lot in terms of build quality, performance, battery life and the camera is also pretty good for its price.
It sports a 6.2-inch full HD + LCD screen on the front and premium blend of glass and metal on the back.
Under-the-hood, it comes packed with Snapdragon 845 octa-core, Qualcomm's most powerful and fastest processor to date and is backed by Adreno 630 graphics engine. It also has 4 GB / 6 GB / 8 GB RAM, 64 GB / 128 GB / 256 GB storage and a 3,300mAh battery, which is enough to keep the phone running for more than a day under regular usage.
Asus Zenfone 5Z also boasts feature-rich 12 MP + 8 MP dual-camera with super 0.03-second Tri-tech autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and Artificial Intelligence(AI)-powered photography system with AI Scene Detection in 16 types. They are food, sky, green field, plant, ocean, sunset, snow, flower, stage, dog, cat, people, text, tripod, QR code, night view, AI photo learning for grouping albums, Real-time Portrait, real-time Beautification and more.
