The first look of actress Kareena Kapoor in the item song "Halkat Jawani" for the movie "Heroine" has been unveiled by the director.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar posted a picture of Kareena sizzling in a pink sari, teamed up with a black blouse, for the item song on his microblogging site Twitter. Gone are Kareena's size zero days and she shows her beautiful curves in the picture, sporting blue bangles on her hands and a beautiful black bindi on her face.
Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted: "Scintillating & beautiful #Kareena in her #HalkatJawani look on the sets of #Heroine."
Three days ago, Bhandarkar had posted another picture of Kareena, getting ready for the shoot of the item song.
He wrote: "My #Heroine #Kareena gearing up for #HalkatJawani" along with the picture.
"Heroine" is said to be an intense female-oriented film that gives an account of the life of a successful actress and the ups and downs faced by her in her journey to success and her life after that.
Kareena Kapoor is playing the role of Mahi Arora in the movie. "Heroine" is directed, co-written and co-produced by Madhur Bhandarkar. The film also stars actors Arjun rampal and Randeep Hooda.
Talking about the film to PTI, Bhandarkar once said, "It will be a different sort of a film for Kareena. It is different kind of cinema..she has never done this kind of a film before."
The much-awaited film was initially supposed to feature actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but she backed out due to her pregnancy. Following this, there were several speculations as to who would play the main female lead role in the film.
It was then offered to Kareena who grabbed it. The film has reportedly drained Kareena, taking a heavy toll on her health.
Kareena reportedly got a sore throat after indulging in scenes where she had to shout at her co-actors Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda. In order to be more natural, she let out her emotions which left her with a husky voice.
The actress is also said to have ditched the glycerine and induced tears and cried naturally for the shots.
According to buzz, the film is expected to be released on September 21, on Kareena's birthday. If it gets released as scheduled, it will be a big treat for Kareena's fans as her much-eagerly expected marriage with actor Saif Ali Khan will take place on October 16, just days after her film's release.
