Vin Diesel and Paul Walker starrer "Furious 7" has created history at the Indian box office. The Hollywood action thriller has become the first film of 2015 to earn ₹100 crore in India.

Expectations were riding high on Bollywood film "Baby" to cross the ₹100 crore mark, but the earnings of the film stopped before achieving the feat. The film starring Akshay Kumar was the highest grosser of 2015 with ₹95.56 crore, until the release of "Furious 7".

"Furious 7" took 17 days to enter the century club. After its third weekend, the box office collection of "Furious 7" stands at ₹104 crore.

"#FastAndFurious7 creates HISTORY. Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark in India. Total after Wknd 3: ₹ 104 cr net. GrossBOC: ₹ 146 cr. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Earlier, Universal Pictures India had announced that Diesel and Walker starrer has raced to the top with ₹100 crore earnings in its first week itself. However, trade analysts in India announced on Tuesday, i.e. on 21 April that the film has become a century grosser.

""Fast & Furious 7" fastest ₹100 crore box office collection was due to the fact that it was the widest release in over 2,800 screens in India. There's a vast potential for Hollywood movies in the regions beyond the metros and mini-metros in India," Sarabjit Singh, general manager, Universal Pictures India, said in a statement on 10 April.

"Furious 7", also called as "Fast and Furious 7", was released in India on 2 April in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

The seventh instalment of the franchise also features Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, and Indian actor Ali Fazal.
