Bethesda has finally broken its silence on its participation in an annual gaming event and in a first, will be hosting E3 Showcase in June 2015. Fans have been eagerly anticipating some news on the possible Fallout 4 with speculations indicating about the company's possible participation in the upcoming GDC and PAX East.
The company shared the excitement of its fans in the announcement of "hosting our [Bethesda's] first-ever E3 Showcase in Hollywood, CA, 'that promises' most exciting event yet."
It has not given details on what players can expect at the E3 Showcase. There was no mention of time but it did say that it will be sending out the invites in the "coming months."
The announcement raises many questions and put more spin to rumour mills. Bethesda's event will be before the main expo kicks off. As observed by Attack of the Fanboy, having the event in downtown Hollywood is expensive and the company would not have planned such an event without having something really special to announce.
With the ongoing speculation on the possibility of a Fallout 4 reveal, Bethesda might also make some announcement on Elder Scrolls 6. The company has not spoken anything about these yet.
Rumours are fine, but they must be calmly taken, as we cannot jump the gun to say that Fallout 4 could be revealed. Our speculations could go wrong. Possible title reveals could include Dishonor 2, and there is a possibility of it revealing its publishing arm.
As speculated by MrMattyPlays, the first gameplay of Fallout 3 was showcased at E3 2008 and history could repeat itself with Fallout 4.
Nevertheless, Bethesda has something big for its fans, leading it to plunge into hosting a media conference at E3 2015.
Previously at E3 events, Bethesda games were only mentioned as part of the press conferences of other companies or they were simply part of the playable games on the show floor.
The company has also said that fans who can't make it to the E3 Showcase can stream it on Twitch.TV/Bethesda.
