The 2018 state assembly elections were held in the states of Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram. The Chhattisgarh elections were held in two phases on November 12 and 20. Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram had conducted its elections on November 28.

Telangana and Rajasthan had conducted its polling on Friday, December 7. With the polling coming to an end, the five state assemblies are waiting for the results.

In Madhya Pradesh, the polling was done for 230 seats and Telangana had 119 constituencies. While Rajasthan elections were held on 199 Vidhan Sabha constituencies, Chhattisgarh comprises of 90 seats followed by 40-member assembly of Mizoram.

Exit polls in Chhattisgarh

BJP is expected to win in Chhattisgarh with Congress following closely behind. The halfway mark in the state is 46 seats. 

Times Now-CNX predicts that BJP will triumph with 46 seats, Congress will win 35, JCC-BSP alliance will have 7 while other parties will have two seats. 

India Today-Axis polls expect BJP to win 21-31 seats. Congress will win 55-65 seats while other parties will win 4-8 seats. 

NewsX-Neta has predicted that BJP will win 43 seats, falling short of three seats to cross the halfway mark, Congress is set to win 40 seats while other parties will have 7 seats. 

Republic-CVoter predicts Congress to win by a close shave with 46 seats. BJP will win 39 seats and other parties will win 5 seats. 

Republic CVoter predicts tight race between TRS, Congress-TDP

Republic CVoter predicts 48-60 seats for TRS, 47-59 seats for the Congress-TDP alliance and five seats for the BJP.

Telangana exit polls

India Today-Axis has predicted the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS will retain power by winning 79-91 seats in the assembly elections. The Congress-TDP alliance will win 21-33 seats. 4-7 seats for AIMIM while the BJP will win 1-3 seats.

The halfway mark is 60. 

Congress to emerge victorious in Rajasthan

NEWSX-NETA has predicted Congress to win in Rajasthan with 112 seats. BJP will win 80 seats and others will have the seven seats.

The halfway mark is 101. 

BJP leading in Madhya Pradesh

While the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in Madhya Pradesh, they are falling short of the halfway mark by just 3 points. Madhya Pradesh has the reputation of never choosing the same party twice and the trend is expected to continue.

According to exit polls results by Times Now-CNX, BJP is set to win in 126 constituencies while the halfway mark is 115. Congress is predicted to win 89 seats and others get 15 seats. 

India-Today Axis predicts BJP to win at least 102 -120 seats and Congress will win 104 - 122 seats.

NewsX-Neta expects BJP to lose with 106 seats while Congress will emerge victorious with 112 seats. However, the latter will fall short of the halfway mark. Other parties will get 12 seats.

Republic-CVoter predicts BJP to lose by a hair with 106 votes. Congress is expected to get 110-126 and others parties will win 6-12 seats. 

Election Commission bans exit polls till 5:30 PM

The Election Commission (EC) of India had earlier imposed a ban on exit polls on the five poll-bound states of the country starting from November 12 to December 7 in the country.

The exit polls are banned by the EC from the moment the voting begins to half-an-hour after it ends, under the representation of People Act 1951, enacted by the provisional parliament under Article 327 of Indian Constitution, before the first general election.
