Ex-lover Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will not re-unite for the item song in the upcoming film "Kick."

The "Dhoom 3" actress has slashed the rumours that she is working with Salman on the project. Last week, reports of Kaif and Salman doing an item song in Sajid Nadiadwala directorial surfaced online.

"When the discussion over who'd be cast alongside Salman in the promotional song came up, the entire unit (of 'Kick'), including Sajid, agreed that Katrina would be the perfect choice," a source revealed to Hindustan Times.

But her spokesperson denied the reports and said that Kaif is busy working on her three films "Bang Bang", "Phantom" and "Jagga Jasoos" and she has not been approached to do item song in "Kick."

"The rumours are baseless. Katrina has not even been approached for any song in 'Kick.' She is currently busy wrapping up her three films for which she has been working non-stop," her spokesperson said, according to The Times of India.

Before Kaif, the makers approached Deepika Padukone to do the item song, but the actress didn't accept the offer.

"She didn't sign the film, but now the makers want her to do an item number. Deepika's schedule is chock-a-block with other projects but as of now, she has verbally agreed to do the song," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.

The reason behind not accepting the offer is Salman-Shah Rukh Khan rivalry. Padukone made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh in blockbuster hit film "Om Shanti Om" and last year she did "Chennai Express" with the actor which went on to join ₹200 crore club.

The actress wanted to avoid clash due to which she rejected the item song offer, DNA reports.

Meanwhile, rumours have been doing the rounds that Shah Rukh and Katrina might work together again in Rohit Shetty's upcoming film.

"SRK and Katrina to reportedly team up for Rohit Shetty's next to be produced by SRK," Zoom reported.

Shetty has previously announced that he will work with SRK in his next venture, but nothing has been confirmed about Kaif being in the project.
