The big fat wedding ceremony of Hema Malini's daughter Esha Deol kicked off with a star-studded sangeet ceremony in Mumbai on Monday.
The sangeet ceremony was held on Monday night at Hotel Lalit Intercontinental, Andheri in Mumbai.
A-listers from B-town in their best traditional outfits attended the first function of the four-day grand wedding of Esha Deol and businessman fiancé Bharat Takhtani.
Mother Hema Malini and Sister Ahana Deol have been preparing for this year's biggest Indian celebrity wedding for quite some time now.
The bride, Esha, wearing a heavily embroidered vibrant orange colour lehenga-choli designed by Rocky S, arrived at the sangeet walking hand in hand with fiancé Bharat. The kundan work necklace, dangler earring and kamarband gave a finishing touch to her traditional look on the grand day with her hair tied up in a bun.
While Esha was looking beautiful in vibrant orange colour dress, her fiancé Bharat looked handsome in a Simone Khambatta royal-blue velvet sherwani with gold zari flower motifs work on it.
The event marked the presence of Bollywood celebrities with Hema Malini personally welcoming all the guests.
Esha's first cousin and Bollywood actor Abhay Deol arrived at the event with long time girlfriend Preeti Desai. However, Esha's step brother Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were not spotted at the ceremony.
Other high-profile celebrities who attended the ceremony included Esha's first co-star Zayed Khan and his wife Malaika, Riteish Deshmukh and wife Genelia D'Souza, Naseeruddin Shah and family, Riya Sen and Raima Sen, Hema Malini's niece and Roja actress Madhoo with her two daughters, Ranveer Singh, Arya Babbar, Jackky Bhagnani, Alvira Khan, Sohail Khan, Shweta Salve and Anushka Manchanda.
The mehendi ceremony will take place on June 28 and the big-fat wedding will take place on June 29 in a temple which will be followed by a reception the next day.
