Actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja's marital discord often grabs headlines. For years, Sunita has openly claimed and spoken about Govinda's alleged multiple affairs with actresses, and she has also accused him of infidelity. Many a times, reports have claimed that the couple would get divorced.
However, Govinda has never really spoken against his personal life or directly reacted to the claims made by Sunita. It seems like Govinda's silence has now been misconstrued, with netizens and his fans openly maligning and targeting his name.
In a recent podcast, Govinda finally spoke about his wife Sunita's repeated discussions about their relationship and her allegations that he had several affairs during their marriage.
Speaking to ANI, Govinda reflected on his own innocence and suggested that marriage does not necessarily prevent people from being unfaithful.
"I was so innocent till the age of 34 that even I feel embarrassed myself why I was so innocent," he said.
The actor then made his much-discussed 'mithai ki dukaan' analogy: "Aap mithai ki dukan mein reh kar aap bhookhe nikle toh kya dukhad hai [If you stay within a sweet shop, but remain hungry, then it's very sad]."

His comments have since sparked speculation about whether he was indirectly acknowledging Sunita's claims about his past relationships.
Govinda also spoke about Sunita attracting attention after she began speaking publicly about their personal life.
He said that many things remain unexpressed, things that can never be put into words. He added that if he were to offer just a glimpse of these matters from the outside, there would be no need to cast aspersions to create distance, as people often view that as an escape.
Speaking to ANI, Govinda also admitted that although Sunita had made such claims in the past, she has played an important role in bringing up the children in his household.
"Itne pyaar se gali deti hai mujhe aur main khata bhi hoon unke haath se (She affectionately hurls abuses at me, and I just take it in stride)," he said.
Govinda added that wherever people are and whatever roles the Almighty has assigned them, their presence becomes an important part of one's journey and success. He said he and his family would not have achieved what they did without the people who stood by them.
He further said that Sunita has a rightful claim over the children in their family, who have now grown up, and praised her for being kind to them.
Govinda says Sunita discusses their relationship publicly
Govinda also hinted at how Sunita has gained attention after she started speaking about him in public.
"There are many things that remain unexpressed—things that can never be put into words. If I were to offer just a glimpse of these matters from the outside, would there really be a need to cast aspersions to create a distance? People often view that as an escape," he said.
"Is it essential to say bad mouth your own people to gain success? That is a bit easy. Sunita does it tactfully. She offers four words of praise or perhaps the praise comes naturally and then voices a criticism. I see more love in that," Govinda added.
His comments have once again brought attention to the long-standing reports surrounding his marriage with Sunita Ahuja, particularly her repeated claims about his alleged affairs.

Sunita was a contestant on the recently concluded show Lock Upp 2. During her brief stint on the show, she spoke about Govinda's alleged affairs.
She said, "In love, you should be able to tolerate everything. Chi Chi had so many affairs in his life; well, heroes and heroines do have such things. I think that after standing by Chi Chi for so many years, I deserve to have a son like him."
Sunita's comments at the time once again sparked discussions about her relationship with Govinda and the claims surrounding their marriage.
