Ducati India launched its new motorcycle, Ducati 959 Panigale, in India on Friday, Feb. 19, at the 2016 India Bike Week (IBW). The Ducati 959 Panigale has been priced at 14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Ducati 959 Panigale, the successor of the 899 Panigale, is open for bookings in the country. Powering the 959 Panigale is a new 955cc, 90-degree, V-twin, Superqudro, Desmodromic, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to churn out 157bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 107.4Nm of torque at 9,000rpm matched to a 6-speed Ducati Quick Shift gearbox.

"We are very excited to bring the new super-mid Ducati Superbike to India. The Ducati 959 Panigale is the perfect balance between impressive design and breath-taking performance and it embodies Ducati's premium sportbike culture," said Ravi Avalur, managing director of Ducati India, in a statement.

The 959 Panigale measures 2056mm in length, 1115mm in height, 810mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1431mm and a seat height of 830mm. It features Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), full LCD instrument panel, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS)

Ducati, which currently has dealerships in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bengaluru, will also open a dealership in the country as part of the company's plans to expand the company.
