Do October ko kya hua? This is the question that has gripped Bollywood since 2015. It's been 11 years and three films later, everyone knows what happened on October 2. After the success of Drishyam 1 and 2, Drishyam 3 has finally hit theatres today. The film marks the third and final instalment of the Hindi franchise, but unlike the first two films, it is not a remake of the Malayalam film.
The film stars Vijay (Ajay Devgn), Meera (Tabu) and Mahesh Deshmukh (Rajat Kapoor), who are determined to prove what they believe to be the truth, one that they believe will deliver justice for their late son.
Netizens are praising Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat, as well as Akshaye Khanna, while the jaw-dropping climax has also left audiences impressed.
Story
Meera and Mahesh's quest for justice has now turned into a thirst for revenge. This time, they have pinned their hopes on Rajveer Singh Rathore (Jaideep Ahlawat), SP Crime Branch, and top lawyer Indrajit Shetty (Prakash Raj).
Without revealing much, let's just say that seven years later, the premise of the film is gade murde ukhadna (digging up old graves).
One user wrote, "3-line review of Drishyam 3 Hindi: 1) Ajay Devgn is a better actor than Mohanlal. 2) Abhishek Pathak's changes have made it a more engaging story than the Malayalam original. 3) Ajay is a secure actor, and he lets Jaideep Ahlawat, Kamlesh Sawant, Rajat Kapoor and Prakash Raj shine in their moments."
Another person commented, "Akshaye Khanna, grab your song and sit at home because we've got Jaideep. #Drishyam3 review."
One fan added, "#Drishyam3 Interval: TERRIFIC pre-interval sequence! I bet you have never seen Vijay Salgaonkar this angry before. Solid tension build-up! Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat FACE-OFF."
The third one mentioned, "#Drishyam3 Review 1/2 #ThreeWordReview: Predictable family thriller. Drishyam 3 in Malayalam was a disappointment as it failed to match Part 1. The Hindi version also falls short, but it is better than the Malayalam version. #JaideepAhlawat and #PrakashRaj shine. #AjayDevgn and #Tabu are the same."
One person said, "BAAP RE BAAP!!! Unreal dhamaka at the box office. If this keeps going on, then 80K will be breached before 1 pm, and it has a real shot at hitting 85K or even 90K before 2 pm. Phaad kar rakh diya bhai! Sat-Sun ko kya hoga? #Drishyam3 #DrishyamTheConclusion #AjayDevgn"
Another X user wrote, "Just done with the movie watching and its WOW WOW WOW .. Take a bow makers First half didnt make me feel or expect the kind of experience I have now, just in awe of it .. This is the perfect CONCLUSION and indeed its bigger than the 2nd part The cast shines and dialogues in 2nd half r fantastic MUST MUST MUST WATCH .. DONT MISS AT ALL."
A user rated the film three-and-a-half stars and described it as a predictable family thriller. The viewer also compared the Hindi film with the Malayalam version and praised Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj for their performances.
Another viewer rated the film four-and-a-half stars and called it the best film in the Drishyam franchise. The reaction praised Abhishek Pathak's writing and direction, particularly his approach to taking the story forward without simply recycling the formula of the previous films.
A separate viewer gave the film four stars and called it brilliant, describing it as gripping, powerful and entertaining while claiming it was stronger than the first two instalments.
