"You are mine": Neetu Kapoor trolled for allegedly interfering between Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor; netizens say Deepika's MIL gives spaceIANS

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor celebrated his 44th birthday on Monday, with fans, family and members of the film fraternity taking to social media to pour in their wishes for the actor. However, the sweetest wishes came from his mother, actor Neetu Kapoor, and wife, actor Alia Bhatt, who both penned heartfelt birthday notes for Ranbir.

The actor celebrated his birthday with the paparazzi in the evening, followed by cake-cutting, clicking selfies with fans and more.

Neetu Kapoor also posted a sweet birthday note for him on her Instagram story. She shared a picture with Ranbir and wrote, "Happy happy to you, Rana. You are mine, and I feel blessed (sic)." However, Neetu's words, "you are mine", did not go down well with many netizens, who started trolling her and Ranbir. Some netizens, however, came out in support of the actors.

A netizen tweeted, "This country can't deal with any expression of love, romantic or otherwise. One post of Neetu Singh-Ranbir Kapoor professing mother-son love gets him branded as a 'mama's boy'. Raho apni dysfunctional relationships mein, aur kya (sic)."

Another X user wrote, "Never marry mama's boy I repeat Never marry mama's boy. Alia should be there sitting beside Ranbir Kapoor and not Neetu Kapoor (sic)."

Many even compared Neetu Kapoor's behaviour with Ranbir to Deepika Padukone's mother-in-law during their Siddhivinayak Temple visit. A user pointed out that Deepika's mother-in-law gave the couple space and did not interfere between Ranveer and Deepika. Meanwhile, Neetu Kapoor was also seen performing Ganpati puja with Ranbir while Alia was seated beside them.

A user wrote, "This is Ranveer's mom. See how she doesn't intrude everywhere and lets them have their moments. Ranveer and Deepika are truly blessed to have such wonderful parents. ❤️"

Another netizen tweeted, "No... Neetu Kapoor behaves that way, and many Indian moms are overly possessive about their sons. That's one of the main reasons they end up ruining their sons' married lives. I went through a similar situation, stood my ground, and now life is moving forward beautifully. Blessed (sic)."

Even Ranbir Kapoor was trolled during the Don't Be Shy premiere when he posed awkwardly beside Alia and did not hold her hand.

Apart from that, Alia was also trolled after she was spotted wearing hair extensions and a hair patch when she came out to wave to fans on Ranbir's birthday.

This isn't the first time Ranbir and Neetu Kapoor have been trolled. Ranbir Kapoor has been called a 'mama's boy' time and again on social media.

Meanwhile, Ranbir has three interesting films lined up: Ramayana Part 1, Ramayana Part 2 and Love And War. Ramayana Part 1 is slated to release during Diwali this year. Reportedly, it will hit the big screens on November 5, 2026, but the makers have not yet officially announced the release date.
