Janapriyanayakan Dileep, who was last seen in the Malayalam movie, Welcome to Central Jail, will team up with debutant director Arun Gopy for his next. The upcoming movie, which has been titled Ramaleela, is being bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakuppadam, after the blockbuster Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan.
Sachy, who recently helmed Prithviraj Sukumaran's romantic entertainer Anarkali, is said to be scripting Ramaleela, which is touted to be a political thriller. Dileep will be seen as MLA Ramanunni and the movie will mark the comeback of yesteryear actress Radhika Sarathkumar to Mollywood after a long gap of 23 years. The actress will be seen playing a strong character as Dileep's mother in Arun's film.
Prayaga Martin, who was recently seen in Ore Mukham and Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan, will play a pivotal role in the film, which doesn't have a romantic angle. Ramaleela, which is said to go on floors in December, is also said to star Siddique, Sreenivasan, Hareesh Peradi, Ramesh Pisharody and Renji Panicker in significant roles. The big-budget entertainer is expected to hit the screens as a Vishu release.
Dileep's upcoming movie Georgettan's Pooram, which was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on the occasion of Christmas, has been postponed to January. Rathish Ambat's Kammara Sambhavam, Ramachandra Babu's Prof. Dinkan and P Balachandran's Pic Pocket are the others in his kitty lined up for 2017. Meanwhile, Dileep was recently in news for marrying actress Kavya Madhavan, putting rumours of their relationship to rest. The couple exchanged wedding vows in a star-studded ceremony in Kochi on November 25.
