Did Michael Jackson's Son Resent His Father for Naming him Blanket? Reason for Name Change Revealed

Michael Jackson's youngest son Blanket recently grabbed headlines after his most recent yearbook photo went viral.

The 13-year-old, who is a seventh grader at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California, was listed as Bigi in the yearbook, and a source told Radar Online that this was the name Blanket liked to go by.

According to the source, Blanket took the decision to change his name after years of bullying, and wanted a new identity before he started at The Buckley School. Blanket "changed his name informally from Blanket to Bigi before entering Buckley because he hated getting bullied and made fun of because his name was Blanket," the source noted.

Born Michael Jackson Jr, the King of Pop's youngest child is also said to have resented his father for calling him Blanket.

"He always thought that the name Blanket sounded so stupid and resented his father for calling him that," the insider told Radar Online. "Growing up, his school mates have always been slightly mean to him because of their jealousy over who he is and going by Blanket made him a much easier target for ridicule."

The teenager began attending The Buckley School just last year after being home-schooled previously. School life seems to be agreeing with Blanket, as another insider said he was a very good student who was funny as well as sensitive.

"He is definitely the opposite of Paris and Prince and he is more on the quiet side," the source added. "Michael would be proud of Blanket. He is really sweet, funny and helpful. He volunteers to help the younger kids and he is really good with them. He probably got that from his dad," the source added.

His other two siblings, Prince and Paris, have been grabbing a lot of media attention for their alleged feud. According to media reports, Prince has been acting like a spoiled brat, and this is said to have caused a strain in his relationship with his sister.
