For quite a while now, dating rumours of Dhanush and Mrunal have been doing the rounds. The celebrity duo has not publicly acknowledged their relationship or confirmed any of the dating rumours yet. However, in between, there was a speculation that the two might soon tie the knot. Even though there were sources close to the alleged couple who brushed off the rumours, fans remained excited and social media was abuzz with pictures of the two from different events.

The chatter only intensified recently when a video surfaced online, appearing to show the pair participating in a traditional wedding ceremony. Shared widely across social media, the clip reignited curiosity and celebration among fans, even as questions began to surface about whether the visuals reflected reality or were yet another case of viral misinformation.

An Instagram user took to their Instagram handle and uploaded a reel (short video format) showcasing Mrunal and Dhanush performing wedding rituals. The two were seen engaged in performing rituals from a typical South Indian wedding. On one hand, Dhanush looked dapper in a white veshti with a golden border paired with a crisp white shirt; on the other hand, Mrunal looked gorgeous in a maroon kanjeevaram saree.

The Instagram user in the caption of the post mentioned, "Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur reportedly got married on 22nd January in a close-knit, private family ceremony in Chennai. Keeping it low-key and away from the spotlight, the wedding was attended only by family and close friends."

They further went on to add, "Sources reveal that several top Kollywood stars were present to bless the couple, including Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Vijay Thalapathy, Dulquer Salmaan, and Ajith Kumar." The aforementioned stars were seen right in the background of Dhanush and Mrunal, beaming with joy.

While several netizens initially thought this was a real video, upon closer look at it, one can tell that this is a fake one which has been manipulated using the power and tools of AI.

Even the netizen who uploaded the video online wrote at the very end of the caption, "Disclaimer: This reel is AI-generated and for entertainment and news-style representation only. No official confirmation has been made by the individuals involved."
