The makers of "Dhruva," starring Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh, have announced the date for the Telugu film's release in theatres. It will clash with Naga Chaitanya's "Premam" at the box office this Dussehra.

Producer Allu Aravind, who is bankrolling "Dhruva" under Geetha Arts, released an official statement on Wednesday. "Final schedule of talkie part is in progress will be wrapped up by 5th September and post-production works are also happening simultaneously. Balance songs will be canned soon. We are releasing the film on October 7th, on the special eve of Dussehra, without any delay," reads Allu Aravind's statement.

Just a day before Allu Aravind's announcement, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi had revealed that his team had also wrapped up production of "Premam". Without announcing the date, the producer said that he wants to release the film as a Dussehra treat for the fans of Akkineni family. "We are planning to release in the month of October as Dussera festival gift," he said.

Directed by Surender Reddy, "Dhruva" is an action thriller film and an official remake of Tamil film "Thani Oruvan." The movie stars Ram Charan, Rakul Preet Singh and Aravind Swamy. On other hand, "Premam" is a musical-romantic comedy drama and remake of a Malayalam film of the same name. The Chandu Mondeti-directed film features Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles.

Akkineni and Mega families are among the leading filmy families in Tollywood. If "Dhruva" and "Premam" are released on the same date, the audience and screen count will be split between the two films. It will definitely lead to loss of business for both the movies. It should be seen whether the makers will take any initiative to avoid the clash between these big ticket films.
