Ram Charan's Dhruva has packed a solid punch at the worldwide box office in the first weekend. The collection of the movie has crossed the mark of Rs 40 crore gross in the global market in three days.

Dhruva, the remake of superhit film Thani Oruvan, had been creating positive buzz in the media, ever since it was announced. The makers of the film had a huge amount of promotions and Ram Charan's recent releases Govindudu Andarivadele and Bruce Lee - The Fighter had failed to do the expected amount of business at the box office. His latest outing was expected to give a big break to the mega power star.

The hype and promotion got decent advance booking for Dhruva, which was released in around 1,500 screens across the globe. The movie opened to good response everywhere and collected Rs 22.50 crore at the worldwide box office on the first day. But the movie failed to become the biggest opener for Ram Charan. Bruce Lee - The Fighter had grossed over Rs 23 crore.

The Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh starrer garnered positive response and the word of mouth helped the film go from strength to strength on Saturday and Sunday. Dhruva has grossed approximately Rs 29 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, Rs 6.77 crore in Karnataka, Rs 6.72 crore in the US and Rs 5 crore in other parts of the globe.

Dhruva has collected approximately Rs 47.49 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first weekend. The movie is estimated to have earned a share of Rs 30 crore for its distributors, who have shelled out Rs 57.50 crore on its theatrical rights. The film has recovered 52.17 percent of the investment to its distributors in three days.
