Designated Survivor season 1 episode 21: Tom Kirkman for POTUS, demand netizens after ABC show's season finale

Move on, President Donald Trump, Americans demand President Kirkman to be the new POTUS. Designated Survivor's lead character, Tom Kirkman, played by Kiefer Sutherland, impacted viewers with his role in the final episode that fans of the show have begun presidential campaign for him on the internet.

The political drama, which is set in the aftermath of the Capitol bombing leading to the Designated Survivor coming to power, has been a massive hit ever since it premiered in October. Drawing interesting and surprising intersections between drama and politics, it also presented a relatable and accurate storyline for fans to enjoy.

But what led to the sudden demand? Designated Survivor concluded its season finale last night and amidst the whole mess of the conspiracy, President Kirkman made one helluva speech that brought viewers to the request.

The last episode of the ABC show ended with the show almost coming to a full circle as the Congress is again under one roof and a designated survivor is set aside. While this time there were no blasts, Kirkman revealed details about the traitor within the White House and shared details about the people behind the Capitol bombing from the first episode to the Congressmen sitting in the room and the world watching.

The highlight of this particular moment from the entire episode was President Kirkman's speech. His confidence, the delivery and the choice of words moved literally everyone watching. The speech not only heaped applause in the White House, but many viewers watching at home also loved it.

The speech led to viewers twitting out to the show in support of Kirkman for POTUS.

Though the show is one season old, Designated Survivor has avid followers. The ABC show left viewers on the edge of their seats twice with two cliffhanging episodes – mid season finale and season finale.

There were numerous moments in the season finale alone that took viewers by shock and left them shouting, screaming and gasping for a breath of air.
