Multiple prominent schools across Delhi faced bomb threats on Monday, prompting immediate emergency responses. At least nine institutions reportedly received threat emails between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, including Loreto Convent (Delhi Cantonment), Venkateshwar Global School (Rohini), Cambridge School's Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony campuses, The Indian School (Sadiq Nagar), CM Shri School (Rohini), DTEA School (INA), Bal Bharti School (Rohini), and Manav Sthali School (New Rajinder Nagar).
Authorities, including Delhi Police, fire teams, and bomb disposal squads, were quickly mobilized. Students and staff were evacuated safely while security personnel conducted thorough searches. The threat email, obtained by India Today, claimed: "Delhi will become Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru. There will be an explosion at 1:11 pm," and warned of a potential blast at Parliament on February 13, signed by the so-called 'Khalistan National Army.'
This incident is part of a rising trend of hoax bomb threats in metropolitan areas, which strain emergency services and create panic among parents and school administrations. A similar episode occurred on January 29, when five Delhi schools, including Loreto Convent, Don Bosco School (Chittaranjan Park), and Carmel Convent campuses (Anand Niketan and Dwarka), received false threats. The day prior, the Dwarka court complex was also targeted by a bomb threat later deemed false.
Delhi Police continue to investigate the source of these repeated hoaxes and have warned that those responsible will face strict legal action.
