Delhi Dynamos in action during their match against Chennaiyin FC in ISL 2016Press release

Delhi Dynamos will take on NorthEast United FC in their first home match of Indian Super League 2016 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. The occasion is momentous as over the years in the ISL, this particular match has seen a host of crowd, thanks to the massive presence of North East fans in the national capital.

Gianluca Zambrotta coached Delhi Dynamos are yet to taste defeat this season and NorthEast United, too, stay on top of the table after a bright start which saw them win three times from four matches.   TEAM NEWS HERE

Saturday's match makes a mouth-watering fixture as both the teams will look forward to carrying on their momentum. "NorthEast United FC play defensively but are very good on the counter with [Emiliano] Alfaro, [Nicolas] Velez and Katsumi [Yusa]. We are doing our best to avoid such attacks," stated World Cup winner Zambrotta ahead of the match.

Defensively, the home side have been good so far as they have conceded just once over their two games. NorthEast United FC, on the other hand, have conceded none over their previous games, with Indian 'Spiderman' Subrata Paul dishing out impressive performances match after match.

They [Delhi Dynamos] had two good results away beating Chennaiyin 3-1 and a draw against Kerala. So, I am telling my players how important this game is and as usual it will be very difficult," warned NorthEast United's experienced coach Nelo Vingada.

"We have seen how our players have recovered after these four games. In the last game against Pune, we played with ten men for almost an hour, so it was a strong effort and a lot of energy spent. But I believe with our effort, character and heart I am sure we can play a good game," he added.

Delhi Dynamos vs NorthEast United FC is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm IST (2.30 pm BST) on October 15.
