Sandalwood bigwigs and some of the well-known celebrities from Karnataka will be attending the wedding reception of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who tied the knot in Italy recently.
The guest list of the Bengaluru wedding reception includes Real Star Upendra, Kiccha Sudeep, Rocking Star Yash, Puneeth Rajkumar, filmmaker Indrajith Lankesh and many others. Apart from celebs from Kannada film industry, sports personalities like Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and many badminton players are reportedly gracing the wedding reception.
Some reports say that the celebs from other South Indian film industries like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam are also attending the wedding reception.
The wedding reception is held at Leela Palace. The guests will be reportedly treated with South Indian cuisine.
Deepika Padukone has her roots in Bengaluru. She did her schooling in the Garden City before opting for a career in modelling. She was spotted by filmmaker Indrajith Lankesh, who introduced her to the film industry in 2006 film Aishwarya in which she paired up with Upendra.
Later, she made her Bollywood debut in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om in which Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role. And the rest is history.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the presence of family members and close friends at the Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como, Italy on November 14. The marriage was solemnised as per the traditional Chitrapur Saraswat style (given Deepika's roots belonging to Saraswat Brahmin community from Karnataka and mother tongue Konkani).
