Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's Mumbai reception on Saturday was a star-studded affair. The grand event at The Grand Hyatt was attended by several popular faces from the industry, but some of the stars could not turn up for the celebration.
The lavish party was attended by stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and many others.
The star couple included almost every known personality from the industry into the guest list. While most of the celebrities did join in Deepika and Ranveer's celebration, a few of the popular stars could not or did not show up.
Here are some of the celebs who gave DeepVeer's Mumbai reception a miss:
Salman Khan: The Superstar has been busy shooting for his upcoming movie Bharat, and hence could not be present at the reception. His absence was well predicted for the same reason.
Priyanka Chopra: PeeCee also could not attend the event due to a very genuine reason. It was her wedding day on Saturday as she tied the knot with Nick Jonas at Jodhpur in a Christian ceremony.
Abhishek Bachchan: Although the entire Bachchan family including Amitabh, Aishwarya, Jaya and Shweta graced the occasion with their presence, Abhishek for some reason did not turn up for reasons best known to him.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt: Ex-boyfriend of Deepika, Ranbir and his current girlfriend, Alia were also very much invited for the reception, but they chose to give it a miss. Although sources close to the couple had earlier confirmed that the duo would be a part of the event, eventually they skipped it. It has been reported that Ranbir and Alia skipped Deepika's big night not for any personal issues, but due to a long shooting schedule of Brahmastra.
Aamir Khan: Although Aamir's wife Kiran Rao attended the reception, but the actor was missing from the show. According to sources, Aamir could not be present there as he was out of the town.
Sonam Kapoor: It was speculated that the Neerja actress would not turn up for Deepika's reception, and it turned out to be true. She gave it a miss for reasons not confirmed. Deepika too had skipped Sonam's reception as she was scheduled to attend MET Gala that had happened at the same time.
Shahid Kapoor: The actor's wife Mira Rajput was seen entering the venue alone as Shahid did not show up. Again the exact reason is not known.
