One of the most iconic films of Indian cinema, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", finished its 1009-week-long run at Maratha Mandir, Mumbai, on Thursday. Fans of the beloved pair, Raj and Simran, were left heartbroken when they learnt the film won't be screened anymore.

"DDLJ" has touched several hearts over the years with its Raj-Simran love story. Screened at 11.30 am every day, the film had loyal viewers who would flock to the theatre on working days as well.

The news of ending the screening at Maratha Mandir came as a surprise because when it had touched the 1,000-week mark on 12 December, last year, theatre's executive director Manoj Desai had said he would let the iconic movie run for another 1,000 weeks.

Here are a few unforgettable and popular lines from the film:

"It's okay Senorita, bade bade desho mein, chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai"

The most popular line in "DDLJ" needs no introduction. This dialogue would top the list of Best all-time Bollywood iconic lines.

"Fail hona aur padhai na karna, ye humare parivaar ki parampara hai"

Raj's (Shah Rukh Khan) cool father was an entertaining character in the film. He, played by Anupam Kher, wooed the audience with his carefree nature and witty lines.

"Agar woh mujhse pyaar karti hai, to paltegi. Palat... Palat... Palat"

This particular dialogue became a test and is still practiced by several youngsters. Raj and Simran's love story totally influenced youngsters and taught them the meaning of love.

"Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi"

No Bollywood movie is complete without a strict father. Amrish Puri had played the character of Simran's orthodox father who let her go to Raj in the end. No one can ever forget that epic scene.

"Akhir ek Hindustani hi Hindustani ke kaam aata hai"

Most fans would remember the scene where Raj fooled Simran's father and ran away with beer bottles from his store. This scene taught all guys never to try it in real life, what if they end up falling in love with the shopkeeper's daughter.

"Main ek baar phir train chhodna nahi chahti"

"DDLJ" showed that missing a train can actually get someone Mr Right. Even Minissha Lamba and Ranbir Kapoor followed it in their film "Bachna Ae Haseeno".

"Tumhari aankhein mujhe mere dadima ki yaad dilati hai"

Such cheesy lines are quite annoying, unless you are Shah Rukh Khan.

"Aao Aao Aao"

The epic scene of the film when SRK aka Raj tries to impress Simran's father. He succeeds in his endeavour after he saves a pigeon, who was shot at, with "desh ki mitti".
