The trailer of Aamir Khan's Dangal has crossed 20 million views in five days of its release on YouTube. The 3.25-minute long Video has garnered a superb response from the audience.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan wanted to launch the trailer of Dangal at a grand function in Mumbai. But he scrapped his plans to avoid unnecessary questions that media might ask him about current scenario in the country. The actor was apparently scared that the uncomfortable questions might attract negative publicity for the movie. Hence, he reportedly released it online without much fanfare.

The trailer of Dangal was released on the official YouTube channel of Siddharth Roy Kapur's banner UTV Motion Pictures on October 19. The video has received 21,456,235 views, 258,558 thumbs up (likes), 21,340 thumbs down (dislikes) and 22,696 comments in five days. Most of the comments are positive response for the promo and they hint at the viewers' curiosity and eagerness to watch the movie.

Dangal is a biographical sports drama and director Nitesh Tiwari has written the script for the movie in collaboration with Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain and Nikhil Meharotra. The movie is based on the true story of Mahavir Singh and his two daughters, Geeta and Babita Phogat.
