"Chennai Express" is going strong during the weekdays of the first week. The family entertainer has raked in ₹137.10 crore within five days of its release at the domestic box office.

The collection has seen a slight drop on Tuesday but it picked up again on Wednesday.

On Monday, the film collected ₹12.62 crore and continued the similar downward trend on Tuesday with ₹11.50 crore at the domestic box office. However, "Chennai Express" picked up its pace again on Wednesday by collecting ₹12.56 crore, taking the domestic total to ₹137.10 crore.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the five-day breakup of the film is: ₹6.75 crore on Thursday's paid preview, ₹33.12 crore on Friday, ₹28.05 crore on Saturday, ₹32.50 crore on Sunday, ₹12.62 crore on Monday, ₹11.50 crore on Tuesday and ₹12.56 crore on Wednesday.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer action-packed romantic-comedy has gained at box office due to its solo release. If the film continues to have a good run at box office, then it would cross ₹150 crore within the first week.

The film is expected to rake in moolah on Thursday because of Independence Day holiday in the country. But there are also possibilities that Akshay Kumar starrer "Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobaara" might give a very tough competition to "Chennai Express"

"OUATIMD" is releasing over 2700 screens in India and the film is set to dominate the single screens compared to multiplexes in India.
