Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer "Chennai Express" crossed ₹300-crore-mark at worldwide box office in the third weekend.

The romantic comedy has fetched ₹212.66 crore from 18 days of theatrical run at the domestic box office, while it raked in ₹107 crore from overseas. The worldwide total of the film is approximately ₹319 crore.

"#ChennaiExpress [Week 3] Fri 2.12 cr, Sat 3.61 cr, Sun 4.75 cr, Mon 1.63 cr. Grand total: ₹212.66 cr. All Time Blockbuster." trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#ChennaiExpress Overseas total *after Weekend 3* stands at $ 16.3 million [₹107 crores]. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER."

The romantic comedy directed by Rohit Shetty became the biggest grosser film in India last week, and it continues to entertain audiences in India as well in international market.

After breaking Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" record in India, the film is now eyeing to break its overseas collection record, but it is very unlikely to break "3 Idiots" overseas record, as it requires more ₹85 crore. SRK-Deepika starrer has already completed 18 days in theatres and its collection has started declining worldwide.

"Chennai Express" had one advantage, i.e. it was screened in more than 700 screens at overseas market and seven non-traditional international circuits. The screen count of "3 Idiots" in overseas was lesser than "Chennai Express" by 300. However, it still very doubtful if the film will break Aamir's film overseas record.

Meanwhile, SRK has completed its two decade journey in Bollywood with "Chennai Express".

"When the film released and by Monday, Tuesday when we all got to know how is it doing and the reaction of the audiences, that made me feel that the years have spent in the industry have proved successful," the 47-year-old told Hindustan Times in an interview.

"The hard work that you do, the time that you spend and sometimes the good and the bad that you face, become worth it when you have a film like this," he added.
