Wilfried Bony has attracted interest from a host number of clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea.

After a reported interest from Manchester City to sign the Ivory Coast striker, Chelsea have joined the race to sign the Swansea striker as well.

Though, Chelsea have a number of strikers in the club, which includes Drogba, Loic Remy and Diego Costa, but Bony's arrival could make the club even more dangerous going forward.

The Blues may put up a bid of around £30 million for the Swansea striker after the recommendation of Chelsea star, Didier Drogba, reports Daily Star. But, Chelsea may well sit back and relax until the summer, as they are in no hurry to sign the Swansea forward during the January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho already has great depth in his squad, so any new player coming in as a striker might lead Mourinho in changing some tactics, which he is not too keen, for it is this set of players, which has helped the Blues maintain such good form this season.

They lie on top of the table with 46 points.

With news reports claiming that the Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba may retire at the end of the season, Bony's arrival next season makes perfect sense.

But, with Manchester City interested in January transfer move to the Etihad for Bony, the blues might need to act well ahead of their schedule to acquire Bony's services.

But, will Gary Monk give up on the Swansea star very easily? Wilfried Bony has been playing very well for Gary Monk's side scoring an impressive nine goals in the league so far. It is due to his exploits that Swansea are placed ninth in the EPL standings table.

It is not only his goal-scoring ability that clubs such as City and Chelsea are keen, but also his power-play in the final third of the game, which is very characteristic of the Ivorian.

To dampen Bony's suitors, the Ivory Coast striker has stated that he is in no rush to leave the Swans, reported The Times.

With the money being offered to footballer nowadays and the crazy transfer market, it would be no surprise if a huge offer comes through and Bony becomes a former Swansea player.

And remember, we are talking about two of the richest football clubs in the world, Chelsea and Manchester City. They have all the cash in the world to get hold of the player they desperately want to.
