Noted theatre and film actor Cheenu Mohan passed away on Thursday, December 27, after suffering cardiac arrest. He was 62.

In his career spanning over three decades, Cheenu Mohan acted in above 3,000 stage plays and got the roles that best suited his acting capabilities. His debut film was Varusham Padhinaaru in 1989. He was also part of films like Mani Ratnam's Anjali and Rajinikanth's Thalapathi.

As Cheenu Mohan did not get significant roles, he stayed away from movies and it was Karthik Subbaraj who reintroduced him to Kollywood with Iravi. Thereafter, he was part of films like Sketch, Kolamavu Kokila and more recently, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

His death has been mourned by his friends and fans. Read their condolence messages below:
