The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 exam results for Chennai and Trivandrum regions have been declared on Monday. The results for the South region were declared at 12pm Monday.

In an attempt to make the process easy for students, Airtel has announced that they will send the results directly to their subscribers.

For Delhi and NCR region, students can register by sending the SMS 'CBSE12 Roll No' to 5207011.

The South region results were declared on Monday but for North, the results are expected to come out either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

"They might be announced tomorrow i.e. May 27 or day after tomorrow i.e. May 28. The candidates are required to keep a check on the official website for updates," officials confirmed to India Today.

This year, 10,29,874 students appeared for the CBSE class 12 exams, out of which 6, 03,064 are boys and 4, 26,810 are girls.

The results are declared roughly two months after the exams. Last year around 9, 42, 035 candidates had enrolled for the exam.

Meanwhile, UP board 12th class exams were announced on Sunday (25 May) in Allahabad. In UP, girls have outperformed boys yet again. But the overall passing percentage has dropped from last year.

Around 30.48 lakh students appeared for the exams out of which 28.10 lakh of them managed to clear it, state Director of Secondary Education and Chairperson of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad Shail Kumari Yadav said, according to Press Trust of India.

Around 95.31 percent girls passed in the exams held this year, while the boys passing percentage remains at 89.81 percent. However, the overall quality of performances has declined this year. The percentage of those getting first division has dipped by 5 percent compared to last year, PTI reported.
