With her first appearance at the 67th Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has silenced all her critics, who recently pointed out that the actress had gained weight.

The former Miss World's much awaited appearance at the film festival was indeed stunning. The actress looked gorgeous in a golden strapless fishtail gown designed by Roberto Cavalli. The strapless gown had a mini tulle train design that complimented the beaded bodice.

The 40-year-old actress looked stunning in a slimmer figure and wore minimum accessories and makeup to compliment the ensemble. The red nail paint along with ruby red lipstick and cascading hairstyle completed her look.

Bachchan has been walking the red carpet for the past 12 years and has been the subject of criticism for her style at the international film festival. But on Tuesday she appeared her best in the golden gown.

With her stunning appearance, the beauty queen has again proved why she is still referred to as one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth had worn that same gown at the Academy Awards 2014, but it's Bachchan who managed to grab the limelight.

She attended the premiere of "Two Days, One Night" on Tuesday along with Amber Heard, Alessandra Ambrosio and Selita Ebanks.

The Bollywood diva arrived in Cannes last week along with her two-year-old daughter Aaradhya, but was not able to attend the red carpet before due to the Air Traffic Control strike in France.

However, the actress made up to her fans with the gorgeous look and slimmer figure. The actress will make her second appearance at the film festival on 21 May.
