The brand ambassadors of cosmetic group L'Oreal Paris have been regulars at the Cannes International Film Festival, but this year Katrina Kaif is likely to give the film festival a miss.
Fans were expecting that Katrina would walk the red carpet this year as well along with the other Indian brand ambassadors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor. However, the actress is unlikely to attend the event as she is busy with her movie projects.
Katrina recently wrapped up Nitya Mehra's "Baar Baar Dekho," but the actress is still busy shooting for "Jagga Jasoos," which also features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. "Jagga Jasoos" team will be shooting the film in May and Katrina will be a part of the team.
"Katrina Kaif, who made her stunning debut appearance at Cannes Film Festival last year, may not be able to attend the most renowned film festival this year," a source told Absolute India.
"Contrary to reports, Katrina is in full support of the maker's wish to release the film in July which means that the Morocco shoot and all remaining days have to be prioritised. Since the dates of Cannes Film Festival are clashing with the Morocco schedule of the musical adventure, Katrina had to give the film festival a miss," the source added.
This is the third year of her association with the cosmetic brand, but she attended the film festival only once. Katrina made her debut on the Cannes red carpet in 2015.
Meanwhile, the other Indian brand ambassadors — Aishwarya and Sonam — will be attending the event this year. However, it is still not confirmed when Aishwarya and Sonam will walk the red carpet at the prestigious event.
The 69th Cannes International Film Festival will be held from May 11 to 22 in Cannes, France.
