India have always been one of the busiest teams in world cricket, and that's set to continue. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the upcoming tour of West Indies from June 23, immediately after Champions Trophy 2017

India will play five ODIs and one T20 match in the West Indies. The matches are going to be played at three venues – Queen's Park Oval, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and Sabina Park, with the last one hosting the T20 match as well.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) have confirmed India's tour to the West Indies starting June 23, 2017," BCCI said in a media statement.

"India is set to play 5 ODIs and one T20I against the West Indies. The five ODIs will be played from the 23rd of June to 6th July. The only T20I will be played at Sabina Park on the 9th of July."

Hectic schedule for India cricketers

Indian cricketers seem to have hardly any breathing space for themselves. After a hectic home season, the ongoing IPL 2017 has kept all the players on their toes. The tournament will be followed by the Champions Trophy, which is set to start on June 1.

Right after the Champions Trophy, they will have to face West Indies, which might take a serious toll on their body. If India feature in the final of the ICC event, which is on June 18, they will straightaway have to pack their bags and head over to West Indies for the ODI and T20 series, which might be unfair on the players.

What can BCCI do?

With a rich pool of players available in India, it would be best if the board decides to send a second rung side for West Indies. This may keep the senior players happy too, though West Indies cricket board may not be too pleased with an Indian team minus the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

However, if BCCI decides to rest the senior players, it would provide a good chance for the fringe players to prove their mettle in international cricket. That ways, India will benefit in the long run as well.
