Jr NTR's "Rabhasa" has turned out to be a box office dud worldwide. The film, which hit the screens on the special occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, failed to strike gold at the box office.

"Rabhasa" was carrying huge expectations and opened on a fantastic note. It minted over ₹9 crore on the first day at the AP/Nizam box office. However, its collections dropped from the second day due to average reviews.

The NTR starrer failed to pick up despite no big competition for at least two weeks until the release of Ravi Teja's "Power" on 12 September. The film's total worldwide share amounts to ₹27.75 crore, according to Andhraboxoffice. The action entertainer has even failed to beat the final worldwide collections of Mahesh Babu's "1 Nenokkadine" (₹28.9 crore), which also turned out to be a flop.

Directed by Santhosh Srinivas, "Rabhasa" is an action entertainer with NTR, Samantha and Pranitha in pivotal roles. The film also has Brahmanandam, Jayasudha, Sayaji Shinde, Jaya Prakash Reddy and Nassar in supporting roles.

NTR's last release "Ramayya Vastavayya" performed poorly at the box office. Following the failure of "Ramayya Vastvayya", fans had huge expectations on "Rabhasa" and hoped that the film will strike gold at the box office.

The film was carrying positive pre-release buzz, thanks to NTR's star power. However, the action entertainer failed to live up to the expectations of the audience. Many criticised the NTR starrer as a formulaic film with nothing new to offer. Although NTR's performance was appreciated, it did not help the film to fetch good collections.

The actor is going through a rough phase with back-to-back failures. It needs to be seen whether his next film will resurrect his career and take him to the top.

NTR will be next seen in Puri Jagannadh's film, tentatively titled as "Nenorakam." The film's first schedule has completed and the second schedule is expected to commence from 26 September. NTR will reportedly be appearing in the role of a cop in the film, while Kajal Aggarwal plays the female lead. This will be Aggarwal's third film with NTR after "Brindavanam" and "Baadshah."
