Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar-starrer "Sairat," which is the highest grosser in the Marathi film industry, is now set to create new benchmarks with its phenomenal box office run. The film, which has earned more than Rs. 65 crore, is all set to hit the century mark at the box office.

"Sairat," directed by Nagraj Manjule, has become a blockbuster-hit film. The love saga continues to enthral audiences, due to which 525 screens have been added, which is a rare phenomenon even in Bollywood.

Manjule's film has completed 24-day box office run and until now the film has minted over Rs. 65 crore. "Sairat" is inching towards Rs. 100 crore mark and looking at the collection it won't be surprising if this film becomes the first Marathi movie to cross century mark.

Bollywood filmmakers and trade experts have also tweeted about the film crossing Rs. 100 crore mark in India. Pritish Nandy, who has produced films like "Pyaar Ke Side Effects," "Shabd," and "Jhankar Beats," tweeted praising the film and said that "Sairat" might become the first Marathi film to cross Rs. 100 crore mark.

"#sairat looks all set to be the first Marathi film to touch the Rs 100 crore box office figure. Brilliant by any standards!" Pritish tweeted.

Prakash Jaju, Priyanka Chopra's ex-manager and trade expert, also said that the film will soon hit the century mark. "#ZeeStudio's #Sairat is on its way to become first Marathi film to collect 100 Cr," he tweeted.

"Sairat" is a love story in the backdrop of caste discrimination. The film, which features Rinku and Akash in the lead roles, has been received well by all.
