Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer "Udta Punjab" is doing decent business in its second week at the domestic box office. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar's "Housefull 3" has shattered the records of Ajay Devgn's comedy drama and Shah Rukh Khan's action film.

Abhishek Chaubey's directorial "Udta Punjab" has crossed Rs. 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. Despite the controversy, the film performed well in India earning Rs. 56.15 crore in 12 days run and it continues to earn decent amount at the box office.

"Udta Punjab," which is the sixth highest grosser of 2016, minted Rs. 1.45 crore on the second Friday, Rs. 2.20 crore on Saturday, Rs. 2.40 crore on Sunday, Rs. 80 lakh on Monday and Rs. 75 lakh on Tuesday.

"#UdtaPunjab [Week 2] Fri 1.40 cr, Sat 2.10 cr, Sun 2.35 cr, Mon 75 lacs. Total: ₹ 55.10 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Udta Punjab," produced by Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Pictures and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, focuses on the issue of drug trafficking in Punjab. The film features Shahid, Alia, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles.

 Housefull 3

Akshay Kumar-starrer "Housefull 3" has pushed past the records of Ajay Devgn's "Golmaal 3" and Shah Rukh's "Don 2" to become the 33rd highest grosser of all time. "Housefull 3" with it's 24-day box office collection of Rs. 107.7 crore shattered the records of "Don 2," which minted Rs. 106.71 crore and "Golmaal 3," which minted Rs. 106.34 crore.

"Housefull 3" box office collection has almost come to an end in India and it looks like the film will conclude its run with a lifetime collection of Rs. 108 crore. The comedy-drama, directed by Sajid-Farhad, might also shatter break the records of Farhan Akhtar's "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" in India.

The comedy drama is the third instalment in the "Housefull" series. The third instalment features Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri in the lead roles.
