"Highway" and "Gunday" witnessed a drop in their earnings at the domestic box office after the release of "Shaadi Ke Side Effects".

Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda starrer "Highway" second Friday's earning was drastically low. The film witnessed major fall in its income due to the new release at the box office.

After dominating market in the first week, Imitiaz Ali's "Highway" collected around ₹90 lakh on eighth day in India.

In its first week, the Bollywood drama film raked in around ₹22.38 crore and after adding the second Friday's collection the overall total of the film stands at ₹23.38 crore.

"#Highway Fri 3.42 cr, Sat 4.82 cr, Sun 5.75 cr, Mon 2.24 cr, Tue 2 cr, Wed 1.90 cr, Thu 2.25 cr. Total: ₹ 22.38 cr nett. India biz only," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The huge decline in the collection in second week is because the film had performed the best in North circuits and that is where the new release "Shaadi Ke Side Effects" has opened to big numbers, according to boxofficeindia.

"Highway" will see a jump in its business on Saturday and Sunday, but the overall second weekend collection will remain low.

Even 14 February release "Gunday" has seen a decline in its earning as it entered its third week run.

"Gunday" had fantastic two week run in India and earned ₹76.12 crore. It was slightly affected with the release of "Highway" but it was "Shaadi Ke Side Effects" that affected its business majorly.

"Gunday" directed by Ali Abbas Zafar features Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in main roles.
