Sunny Deol's revenge action drama "Ghayal Once Again" (Ghayal Returns) had a decent opening weekend at the domestic box office, while "Sanam Teri Kasam" was below average.

Ghayal Once Again

Deol starrer "Ghayal Once Again" did not witness a drop in its earnings during the weekend, but the growth was not extraordinary. The film minted Rs 23.25 crore in its opening weekend, which is the second highest after Akshay Kumar's "Airlift".

"#GhayalOnceAgain Fri 7.20 cr, Sat 7.65 cr, Sun 8.40 cr. Total: ₹ 23.25 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

On Friday, "Ghayal Once Again" minted Rs 7.20 crore, on its second day it accumulated Rs 7.65 crore and on Sunday, it went on to collect Rs 8.40 crore. The film should have done well to make it to the safe zone, considering its budget. Nevertheless, the three-day total is not disappointing as it is the second highest of 2016, so far.

Directed by Deol, the film features Soha Ali Khan, Om Puri and Tisca Chopra in pivotal roles. The film also features Shivam Patil, Aanchal Munjal, Narendra Jha, Manoj Joshi and others in supporting roles.

Sanam Teri Kasam

Romantic film "Sanam Teri Kasam" had a below average opening weekend. After having a start of Rs 1.25 crore, the film went on to earn Rs 4.25 crore in three days, according to Koimoi.com.

The film, featuring Telugu star Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in lead roles, was released in 800 screens. The film failed to show growth at the domestic box office due to negative reviews.

On Saturday and Sunday the film failed to show growth. "Sanam Teri Kasam" is not expected to show any growth in its first week, leading to a below average first week.
