Akshay Kumar's slapstick comedy "Entertainment" has witnessed a slight growth on the second day at the Indian box office.

The film, which minted ₹11.16 crore on the opening day, earned ₹11.53 crore on the second day. Its two-day collections amount to ₹22.69 crore, according to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

"Entertainment" has now surpassed the two-day collections of Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt starrer "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania," which had collected ₹20.27 crore. It has also crossed the opening weekend collections of Tiger Shroff's "Heropanti" (₹21.33 crore ). However, the film failed to beat Akshay's "Holiday - A Soldier os Never Off Duty" two-day collections, amounting to ₹24.48 crore at the Indian box office.

If "Entertainment" manages to hold well on Sunday (10 August), it will surpass the first weekend collections of Sunny Leone's "Ragini MMS-2" (₹24.5 crore) and Dhawan's "Main Tera Hero" (₹22.73 crore) [Note: The figures are referred from Bollywood Hungama].

Directed by debutants Sajid-Farhad, "Entertainment" has a golden retriever, named Junior, playing the title role. The film has Tamannaah, Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood, Johnny Lever and Krishna Abhiskhek in pivotal roles. The comedy entertainer also has Shreyas Talpade, Riteish Deshmukh, Remo D'Souza and Dalip Tahil appearing in cameos.

"Entertainment", which hit the screens on 8 August, received mixed reviews from critics. The film has taken a good opening and is expected to end the first weekend on a decent note. Trade experts will be eager to see how the Akshay starrer performs on weekdays.

The actor's last release "Holiday" was a big hit at the box office and earned more than ₹100 crore in India alone. It will be interesting to see if "Entertainment" will be able to enter the ₹100 crore club.

The film is expected to perform decently for a week until Friday (15 August) when Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns" hits the screens. With the fantastic performance of Salman Khan's "Kick" and the release of "Singham Returns", "Entertainment" will face strong competion at the box office. Whether the film will be able to sustain its business is something we need wait and watch.
