Action thriller "Ek Villain" has maintained a strong hold at the worldwide box office. After having a solid opening weekend, the film went on to collect ₹8 crore on first Monday at the domestic box office.

"Ek Villain" is an action thriller directed by Mohit Suri featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. The film, made on a budget of approximately ₹40 crore, was released in around 2500 screens in India.

The film has made a mark at the worldwide box office with its fantastic earnings. The number of screen counts of "Ek Villain" is lesser than other biggies released this year, but the film still managed to break records.

Malhotra-Deshmukh starrer has taken its four days domestic total to ₹58.8 crore, while opening weekend overseas total to ₹13.24 crore. The worldwide income of "Ek Villain" now stands at ₹72.04 crore.

With its strong performance at the box office, the film is nearing the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide market. Not only in India, but in international market also the film has opened to blockbuster response. The film is an action thriller, which does not fall in the overseas friendly genre, but still it managed to break records of films starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, Bollywood Hungama reported.

US-Canada: The opening weekend total from the US box office stands at ₹1.97 crore ($327,427), while from Canada box office stands at ₹46.54 lakh (US$ 77,441).

UK-Ireland: From the UK market, the film accumulated ₹1.47 crore (£ 143,933)

UAE-GCC: The numbers are not yet reported, but the film managed to beat the opening weekend record of "Humshakals" and "Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" in just two days.

Australia: The film managed to earn ₹39.22 lakh (A$ 69,337) from three days.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan, who attended the special screening of the film, showered praises on Malhotra for his performance in the film. Salman apparently gifted a designer watch to Malhotra as token of appreciation for his performance.
