Hollywood movie "The Conjuring 2" has received a superb opening at the Indian box office. Its two-day collection is much higher than that of new Bollywood releases "Te3n" and "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" (DLKK)

"The Conjuring 2" is an American supernatural horror film and the sequel to director James Wan's 2013 film "The Conjuring." The huge success of "The Conjuring" had created a lot of curiosity among Indian film-goers about its sequel. The distributors of the film managed to book 900 screens to cash in on craze.

"The Conjuring 2" has been dubbed and released In Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 10. The movie debuted to fantastic response and collected Rs. 5.25 crore on the first day. It witnessed a big leap and collected Rs. 6.50 crore the next day. The sequel to "The Conjuring" has collected Rs. 11.75 crore nett at the Indian box office in two days.

Leading Indian trade analyst Taran Adarsh â€tweeted: "#TheConjuring2 was the first choice on Sat too... Witnesses 23.81% growth on Sat... India biz. Note: English+Hindi+Tamil+Telugu versions. #TheConjuring2 Fri 5.25 cr, Sat 6.50 cr. Total: ₹ 11.75 cr nett [775 prints/900 screens]. India biz... English+Hindi+Tamil+Telugu versions. [sic]"

"Te3n" is a thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, and released in 1,169 screens across the domestic circuit. The movie opened to average response, but showed decent growth on Saturday. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#TE3N witnesses 49.43 % growth on Sat... Should maintain upward trend on Sun too... Fri 2.61 cr, Sat 3.90 cr. Total: ₹ 6.51 cr. India biz... [sic]"

"Do Lafzon Ki Kahani," starring Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal, was released in over 620 screens and registered average occupancy on its opening day. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#DoLafzonKiKahani Fri ₹ 1.03 cr [621 screens]. India biz. [sic]" The film showed decent growth on Saturday and the makers of the movie are yet to reveal its second-day collections.
