One of the most successful franchises, Sunny Deol-starrer Border, is gearing up for its sequel, Border 2. The first song of the film, 'Ghar Kab Aaoge' 2.0, was launched at Longewala–Tanot in Jaisalmer in a landmark musical unveiling held amidst Army and BSF personnel.

The event saw BSF jawans and Army officials come together to unveil the patriotic track at the iconic site.

The 3-minute-10-second music video opens with Varun Dhawan, who essays the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, reading a letter from his family and breaking down in tears, before joining fellow Army officers in a celebratory dance.

 About Ghar Kab Aaoge 2.0

Diljit Dosanjh, who essays the role of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC, an Indian Air Force officer, lip-syncs to the lines he has sung, while Sunny Deol, as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kale, is seen visibly emotional as he reads his letter. Ahan Shetty, portraying Lt Cdr Joseph Pius Alfred Noronha, appears briefly in the music video.

The music of the song is by Anu Malik, reimagined by Mithoon, with additional fresh lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir Shukla, adding to the legacy of the original written by Javed Akhtar. The song is sung by Roopkumar Rathod, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh.

The cast of the film, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, was present at the launch, along with producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. The song has received mixed responses from netizens, with many calling it emotional and soul-stirring, while a section of fans criticised the makers for not keeping the original vibe intact.

A user mentioned, "Varun doesn't have charm and tries too much. Complete misfit for this one."

Another comment read, "Just a glimpse of Sunny Deol and we see how much difference is there between a real actor and a cringe actor like Varun."

While another said, "Varun seems completely misfit in this song while others seems at least more natural or at ease Varun is the only one who seems to tried hard for a role which kindda need a bit tone down and lowkey expression!"
