Sunny Deol-starrer Border 2 was released today, Friday, January 23. However, fans of Sunny Deol had to wait a little longer to watch the film as the morning shows were cancelled due to a technical glitch.

As per HT, exhibitors independently confirmed that some parts of the country were affected, but the delay was addressed and resolved by Friday morning.

Border 2 morning shows were cancelled

In many parts of the country, shows as early as 7.30 am and 8 am were scheduled, given the high anticipation for the film. Fans who had booked the tickets reached the cinema halls and were seen waiting outside as the film wasn't ready to play.

However, Film Information reported that the final content of the film was not ready till late Thursday night. Delivery platforms like UFO Moviez informed theatres that the content would only be downloaded and ready later than expected.

According to the report, UFO Moviez stated that the delay was due to the download that began at 6.30 am. Given the film's 192-minute runtime, it could take three to four hours for the film to be ready for screening. This meant that 8 am and 9 am shows were not running in many parts of India.

Exhibitors mentioned that shows across India began at 10 am. As of now, Border 2 screens have increased, while Dhurandhar has seen a reduction in screenings.

Everything is smooth now, and Border 2 shows are running on time.

Meanwhile, on release day, actor Sunny Deol shared a photo on Instagram, looking relaxed and upbeat despite the technical glitch. Sunny appeared in a "no worries, no stress" mood as Border 2 opened to audiences nationwide.

Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, is a sequel to JP Dutta's iconic 1997 blockbuster Border. The film brings back Sunny Deol, along with a new generation of stars including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film was slated for release on January 23, ahead of the Republic Day weekend.
