Allu Sirish raises complaint over late-night music
Sirish, who lives in Aparna One in Shaikpet, took to X on September 27 and tagged the Hyderabad City Police, saying that the temple had been playing loud music beyond the permitted decibel levels for several days.
He also said he had previously approached the Film Nagar Police Station over the issue. According to Sirish, residents had been asked to tolerate the noise until September 25 because of Ganesh immersion festivities. However, he claimed that the celebrations had ended but the loud music continued.
Sirish said several residents had complained about the disturbance in the past and urged the police to look into the matter.
'Blasting music at 2 am is not bhakti'
Following criticism online, Sirish clarified that his complaint was about the timing and volume of the music and not about religious worship.
"I am religious myself and pray to Lord Hanuman. Blasting music with DJ setup at 2am is not Bhakti. What I complained is about civic sense not devotion," he said.
Hyderabad Police responds
The Hyderabad City Police responded to Sirish's post, saying the matter had been forwarded to the Film Nagar police station for necessary action. Sirish thanked the police for taking up the complaint.
The complaint has since sparked discussion online about late-night noise, religious celebrations and civic regulations. Reports also noted that Hyderabad's rules restrict the use of loudspeakers during night hours, subject to applicable permissions and regulations.
