Indian television viewers impatiently wait for the second half of the year because of controversial celebrity show "Bigg Boss". And it looks like the wait is going to end soon. 

According to reports, "Bigg Boss 9" will be aired from mid-September with a new format.

Bigg Boss Live News, whose predictions came true last season, tweeted that Salman Khan has been confirmed as the host of "Bigg Boss 9". The Twitter handle also mentioned the names of the celebrities, who have been approached for the show.

According to Bigg Boss Live News, makers of "Bigg Boss 9" have approached VJ Bani for the show.

"Confirmed : @BeingSalmanKhan will host #BiggBoss9. Show to be aired from Mid-September. Format is also quite changed. More details soon."

"Breaking : VJ Bani offered to be in the 9th season of Bigg Boss #BiggBoss9 #BB9," Bigg Boss Live News tweeted.

Earlier, unconfirmed report suggested the list of contestants for the ninth season of the reality show. The list included winners of all eight seasons and five other contestants, including Rahul Roy (Seaosn 1), Ashutosh Kaushik (Season 2), Vindoo Dara Singh (Season 3), Shweta Tiwari (Season 4), Juhi Parmar (Season 5), Urvashi Dholakia (Season 6), Gauahar Khan (Season 7), Gautam Gulati (Season 8), Sushant Singh, VJ Bani, Mohit Malhotra, Arya Babbar and Karishma Tanna.

However, these are just rumours and the makers of the show have not given any official confirmation regarding the show's timing, format and contestants.

Also, rumours mills are abuzz that that Salman will host the show, which will start as per the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor's availability of dates.

"The modalities are fast being worked out. We will start the show as per Salman's availability of dates," 9xe.com quoted a source as saying.
