Director Sasi's Telugu movie "Bichagadu" has made decent collection at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office in three weeks. The movie has become a surprise hit in these states.

"Bichagadu" is the Telugu dubbed version of "Pichaikkaran," which is a Tamil action thriller film starring Vijay Antony and Satna Titus. Its theatrical rights of the Telugu-speaking states were reportedly sold for Rs. 50 lakh. The movie was released in a limited number of screens across AP/T on May 13, a week after its original version hit the theatres.

The Sasi-directed action thriller movie opened to a good response and maintained rock-steady at the ticket counters on the following days. Trade experts had predicted that its dream run would be affected by "Brahmotsavam" in its second week and "Rahadari" and "Rayudu" in this third week. But "Bichagadu" remained undeterred by them and made good collection.

"Bichagadu" is estimated to have collected approximately Rs. 10 crore gross at the AP/T box office in three weeks. The movie has reportedly earned a huge share of Rs. 7.87 crore for its distributors in 21 days. Box Office Updates tweeted, "#Bichagadu 3 weeks collections Nizam: 2.48Cr Andhra: 3.32 Cr Ceeded: 2.06Cr Total Share : 7.87 Cr."

"Bichagadu" has become the next dubbed movie to perform well at the AP/T box office after "The Jungle Book" and "24." However, its profit share for its distributors is much bigger than that of the two other movies. The bosses of Mayuri Films, who have acquired its distribution rights, are thrilled over its collection and have all thanks for the audience for making it a super-hit in these states.

The huge success of "Bichagadu" has surprised trade analysts in the Telugu film industry, who cannot stop exclaiming about its business. Andhra Box Office tweeted, "Released through Mayuri Films, #Bichagadu is the surprise package this summer with strong 3rd weekend. Super Hit+."
