Sports biopic "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" is ruling the box office charts even in its third week, despite the release of several Hindi films.

The Farhan Akhtar starrer continues to remain the first choice among audiences after all the newly-released films received poor response. The biopic, which is in its third week of theatrical run, is earning more than the new films.

"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" collected approximately ₹1.8 crore and ₹2.2 crore on the third Friday and Saturday, respectively, at the domestic box office.

The film's domestic total now stands at ₹83.09 crore after its 16-day run. In its second week, it minted ₹26.05 crore.

"#BhaagMilkhaBhaag collected approx ₹26.05 cr in Week 2. Grand total: ₹79.79 cr. Super Hit," tweeted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

Generally, collections decline during the third-week run mainly because of the drop in number of screens and due to new releases. However, in the case of "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" new films are helping its business. The new releases like "Nasha", "Issaq" and "Bajatey Raho" received negative reviews from critics because of which movie goers are opting for "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag".

"BMB" which also features Sonam Kapoor in a brief role is doing well on weekdays as well.

"On weekdays there was 60 percent occupancy and this weekend we are expecting it to go up to 80 percent," Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas, told IANS.
