Directors' Institute – World Council of Directors

Directors' Institute – World Council of Directors, recipient of the 2025 Evergreen Award for Best Director Development Program in the USA, has announced a landmark partnership with INSEAD — ranked No. 1 globally for Custom Programmes by the Financial Times — to co-develop and co-credential the Directors' Institute – INSEAD Global Board Programme for senior executives worldwide.

Directors' Institute – World Council of Directors and INSEAD have announced a formal strategic partnership to jointly design, deliver, and credential the co-branded Directors' Institute – INSEAD Global Board Programme — now open for expressions of interest from executives across North America and globally. Executives who complete it receive a dual-institutional certificate bearing the names and logos of both organizations.

The partnership unites two globally recognized institutions. Directors' Institute — winner of the 2025 Evergreen Award for Best Director Development Program in the USA, recognized by Forbes, and honored at both the Australian and British Parliaments — has trained more than 4,000 directors and senior executives across India and the Middle East. INSEAD, with a hub in San Francisco and campuses in France, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi, serves executives from over 4,400 companies worldwide annually and operates one of the world's foremost Corporate Governance Centres.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR U.S. EXECUTIVES
Nomination committees are increasingly screening board candidates for verifiable governance competency — not just executive seniority. The SEC's expanding disclosure requirements, the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, and growing pressure around AI governance at board level are making formal board credentials a priority for C-suite leaders in 2026.

"We are at an inflection point in global governance. The world's most consequential boards will not be built from the most experienced executives available — they will be built from the most governance-ready ones. Technology is reshaping every industry, AI is redefining risk, and the director who cannot govern at the intersection of all three will be left behind. This collaboration with INSEAD is not just a programme — it is the infrastructure for the next generation of boards that the world actually needs."

DI INSEAD Global Board Cohorts — August & September, 2026
The collaboration also introduces the upcoming cohorts of the Global Board Programme, scheduled for August and September 2026. Designed for senior leaders, C-suite executives, aspiring board members, aspiring directors and governance professionals, the programme will bring together select global cohorts to strengthen boardroom readiness, strategic oversight, AI governance, ESG orientation, and leadership effectiveness in an increasingly complex business environment. These cohorts will offer participants a structured opportunity to engage with global governance perspectives, contemporary board challenges, and practical frameworks required to operate effectively across international boards and high-impact leadership roles.
