Is Norma (Vera Farmiga) really dead? What will happen to Norman (Freddie Highmore)? Will Romero find out about the attempted suicide/murder? This will be explored in detail in Season 4 episode 10 of "Bates Motel."

The Season 4 finale will no doubt pick up from where the penultimate episode ended, with a cold lifeless body of Norma lying in Romero's (Nestor Campbell) hands. Episode 9 did not reveal how the season would end, but it is safe to assume that Norma will be pronounced dead when the finale is aired.

To be sure, her death has been hinted at even before Season 4 could premiere. But Norman's decision to kill himself and his mother by passing carbon monoxide through the vents was humane, tragic and ultimately shocking, because no one expected Norma to die in the most painless way possible.

However, it is the consequences of her death that remain to be seen. Episode 10 of "Bates Motel" will capture everyone's reaction to Norma's death, and it would be particularly interesting to see how Romero and Norman's relationship will debilitate.

Executive Producer Carlton Cuse told TV Line, "We designed [the finale] to be the emotional response to [Episode 9]."

Romero, at the end of episode 9, was heartbroken when Norma didn't respond even after he tried to resuscitate her. Do you think the sheriff, overcome with grief, will commit Norman to Pineview at the end of Season 4? Will Dylan move away from his family?

Season 4 episode 10's synopsis (via TV Guide) reads:
