The makers of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer "Bajirao Mastani" have unveiled a new song ahead of the film's release on Friday, 18 December.

Titled as "Aayat", the song is a romantic track crooned by Arijit Singh and penned by AM Turaz.

Featuring Ranveer and Deepika, "Aayat" gives a glimpse of the love story of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao (Ranveer) and his second wife Mastani (Deepika). Interestingly, the song also spills some beans on the climax of the film.

Towards the end of the song, Bajirao and Mastani are seen fighting at a battlefield. Mastani, seeing a soldier trying to attack Bajirao from the back, marches towards him with the sword.

Misinterpreting Mastani's motive, Bajirao raises his sword and kills his ladylove only to find that Mastani had actually saved his life.

With this, it appears like the makers deliberately released the major sequence of the film in order to raise the curiosity among the viewers who are eagerly waiting to watch the film.

"Aayat" is the fourth song from the film's music album after "Deewani Mastani", "Gajanana" and "Pinga".

The plot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, "Bajirao Mastani", essentially revolves around the characters of rumoured real-life couple Ranveer and Deepika; however, the story of Bajirao's troubled first wife Kashibai (played by Priyanka) is an important part of the film too.
