Bollywood actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will be sharing screen space for the first time in their upcoming film "Dilwale".

When asked about the first impression they had of each other, Varun said they hated each other.

"We hated each other initially. Kriti ran me over with a car," Varun jokingly said in an interview.

However, Kriti immediately replied, "I didn't hate him, he probably hated me."

"Like how you don't know each other and are a little awkward initially, because of that guarded space. But then when we started shooting together, the first schedule was actually more or less us and Varun Sharma," the actress then explained their first meeting on sets.

Varun again took a dig at Kriti and said that she was holding back her emotions for the actor when they first met.

"I felt that she was holding back. She had a lot of love for me, but she was not ready to give it. I think it took a couple of months, when, eventually I fell unwell and she let go," Varun said.

In the film "Dilwale", Varun plays the character of SRK's younger brother and Kriti is his (Varun's) love interest.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, "Dilwale" is one of the most awaited flicks of this year.

The film will bring back the evergreen pair of Shah Rukh and Kajol on the silver screen after a gap of five years.

It will also feature the fresh pair of Varun and Kriti on the big screen. Unlike other Rohit Shetty films, this flick will have more romantic sequences than action scenes.

Along with the trailer, "Dilwale" has also mesmerised viewers with its two amazing romantic tracks — "Gerua" and "Janam Janam."

SRK's film will clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's flick "Bajirao Mastani" as both the movies will be released on 18 December. "Bajirao Mastani" features Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
